The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency stated it can be alarmed regarding the high amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The goal with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA sassa services.
“This is a result of the website lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office dedicated to service the area on a regular basis. The assistance issue created for intervention experiences a higher influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it difficult with the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to enable the servicing of all clients and raise use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
